Thought for Today: Monday March 10
Never be discourage by the difficulty of keeping your focus on YHVH Elohiym. He knows that your heart’s desire is to be aware of His Presence continually. This is a lofty goal; you aim toward it but never fully achieve it in this life. Do not let feelings of failure weigh you down. Instead, try to see yourself as YHVH sees you. I believe that He is delighted by every believer’s desire to walk closely with Him. And I believe that He is pleased each time every believer initiate communication with Him. I believe that YHVH notice the progress every believer has made since they decided to live in His Presence.

The temple tax being collected in Matthew 17:24-27 was not part of God's Law, although it was loosely based on the census of Exodus 30:11-16. It was a man-made tradition instituted for the financial support of the Temple. There's nothing wrong it so long as nobody claimed it was a requirement of Torah, but Yeshua used the tax to illustrate a couple of truths about our relationship to him, to the Father, and to the world.
As children of the King of Kings, we are not under the authority of any Law, yet out of love for him and his kingdom, we willingly keep his commandments and even man-made laws and traditions that aren't sinful.
